Usage window
Definition
A usage window is the period during which a brand may use a creator's video, and on which channels. It is agreed in the scope of work before filming. When the window ends, the brand either stops using the video or agrees new terms.

What Usage window means
A typical scope sheet lists the window, the channels, whether paid ads are included and the number of revision rounds. Each of these changes what the work is worth.
Why it matters
Without a window, a creator can end up licensing content indefinitely for a one-time fee. Put the window in writing, and treat extensions as new work.
