Inauthentic content
Definition
Inauthentic content is the term YouTube uses in its monetization policies for mass-produced or repetitive content, including reused content that is not significantly changed. Enforcement is at channel level, and it affects whether a channel can earn from the Partner Program.

What Inauthentic content means
YouTube renamed the policy from repetitious content in July 2025. Shared intros and outros are not the issue; content whose bulk is templated or republished without meaningful change is.[1]
Why it matters
For clipping and editing, the lesson is to add a transformation. Commentary, structure, framing or context that makes the clip a different piece of work is what separates a business from a repost.[1]
