Escrow
Definition
Escrow means holding funds with a neutral third party until agreed conditions are met, such as a client approving delivered work. It protects the buyer from paying for work that is not delivered and the worker from delivering work that is not paid for.

What Escrow means
Marketplaces use escrow to release a payment on approval. Some platforms also hold earnings for a period, as Roblox does for certain catalog and Marketplace sales, before they become available.[1]
Why it matters
Cashcade shows an item held in escrow or pending with the date it becomes available, so the wait is visible instead of unexplained.[1]
